VISA INTO VIETNAM

1. Get a visa from the Vietnamese Embassy before you travel. If you plan to leave Vietnam and re-enter from another country make sure you get a multiple visit visa.
To be stamped visa, you must contact to your travel agent to ask for visa acceptance at least on month before your departure date. Then, you take the visa acceptance to Vietnamese embassy in your location to get visa stamp.

To receive the correct acceptance visa, you must supply full information to you agent:
- Your fullname
- Your nationality
- Date of birth
- Passport number
- Date of issue
- Date of your travelling (arrive date, departure date)
- Type of visa (single or multiple)
- The nearest Vietnamese embassy or you living location.

2. A very simple and cheaper is visa on arrival. Once issued, this visa is exactly the same as a visa issued by any Vietnamese embassy/consulate, with the same limitations and conditions attached to its use.
• The first step to get this type of visa is to get the Visa authority letter (it is a formal paperwork of Vietnamese Immigration to accept your visa). It has the form as follows:


To get visa authority letter, you must contact to your travel agent to ask for. You will have to supply them following information:

1. Your full name (some agents specifically require the names to be in the exact order they appear in the passport, so surname first)
2. Present nationality
3. Date of birth
4. Occupation
5. Passport number
6. Passport date of issue
7. Passport expiry date
8. Proposed date of arrival (this is the date you want your visa to start from. The start date of the visa itself will be the day that you arrive - you may enter Viet nam at a later date - up to your exit date - but not before this date, so be sure to take time zone differences into account)

10. Arrival time
11. Airport of arrival
12. Purpose of visit
If you have children travelling with you and they have their own passports, you will be required to apply and pay the same fees as if they were an adult.
• The second step is getting visa stamp at the arival airport.
Do not forget to take this document + 2 of your passport photos + cash for visa fee.
It will takes about 15-20 minutes to wait at the airport for visa stamp.

• Notes:
Citizens of some countries do not need a visa for short visits but do please check that the following information is still valid:
1. Stays of not more than 30 days: citizens of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia and Laos.
2. Stays of not more than 21 days: citizens of Phillippines.
3. Stays of not more than 15 days: citizens of Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Russian Federation.
4. Stays of not more than 14 days: citizens of Brunei.

Citizens of the following countries are not eligible to obtain a Visa on arrival
NB: The list is not exhaustive.
The various agents advertising on-line applications for Visa On Arrival can not usually process visa applications from citizens of the countries listed below. These citizens must obtain a visa prior to travel either from a Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate located in their country or via the Vietnam Immigration Department direct. Any approval letters issued will be declined on arrival.
